Be job creators - Provost charges corps members
The Provost, College of Education Ikere Ekiti, Prof Mojisola Oyarekua has stressed the need for corps members to embrace the spirit of self reliance and strive to be job creators rather than being job seekers.

Speaking at the send off ceremony organised for 2017/2018 batch A corps members posted to the College, Professor Oyarekua said the experiences gained during the youth service coupled with their academic achievements should have adequately prepared them to face future challenges. She lamented that paucity of fund has really denied the College the opportunity of employing deserving corps members.

She said "In the time past, this College offered employment opportunities to deserving corps members, this we can no longer do due to dearth of fund".

The Provost who was represented by her Deputy, Dr Olu Aturamu lauded the founding fathers of the NYSC scheme noting that the scheme has ensured that youths understand other cultures and languages other than theirs for mutual trust, love, unity and peace for the ultimate progress of the country. "I believed the experiences you have gained from your interaction with other people during this one year must have broadened your perception and improved your interpersonal relationships with people of diverse cultures", she stressed.

She commended the corps members for their service to the College and for ensuring peaceful coexistence with staff and students of the College and Ikere Community at large during their service year.

The Corps Liason officer, Mr Sosanya Abiodun commended the management and staff of the College for their show of love and support during their service year. The management had earlier commended the corps members for the project executed on campus.
